Kindergarten & Year 1 Curriculum

As part of the curriculum, the Kindergarten student will investigate the different body senses, learn about nutrition, weather and seasons, and discover the physical properties of objects. The student will utilize the skills of observation, communication, and classification through hands-on experience.

The student will thus learn:

  • That the human body is made up of many parts, each with its own function
  • That plants need light, water, and nutrients to grow
  • That Oral hygiene and diet influence dental health
  • That humans are able to investigate the world around us through the use of our five senses (sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound)
  • That objects can be classified according to their physical attributes – size, shape, and color
  • That the weather changes with the seasons
  • About plants and animals
  • About moving objects by pushing or pulling them
